About Colony West Golf Club - Championship Course

The Championship Course at Colony West in Tamarac was designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge and opened in 1971 for the Jackie Gleason Classic, debuting as one of the longest par-72 layouts in the country at 7,553 yards. Players found it so punishing that dozens of its original 137 bunkers were removed. Now owned by the City of Tamarac, the public course underwent a major renovation of all 18 greens and greenside bunkers in 2018.
