We love Frederica for its sheer ambition, oaks moved by the hundreds, ridgelines raised from flat coastal ground, and greens big enough to change a hole's whole character. It is Fazio swinging for the fences on St. Simons, and the scale never stops impressing.

About Frederica Golf Club
Frederica Golf Club opened in 2005 as the centerpiece of a private residential community on St. Simons Island, the younger sibling to Sea Island's celebrated Ocean Forest. Created by Tom Fazio for Sea Island heir Bill Jones, with counsel from former R&A Secretary Sir Michael Bonallack, the course is one of the architect's most ambitious efforts on the Georgia coast. Roughly seven million cubic yards of sandy soil were moved to sculpt dramatic elevation, including what is said to be the highest ridge in Glynn County, and more than 1,100 mature live oaks were transplanted to frame the dunes and ridgelines. Frederica is noted for featuring some of the largest greens of any Fazio design, and many admirers consider it among the very best work of his prolific career.
