About Hillandale Golf Course

Hillandale is Durham's oldest golf course, established in 1911 when philanthropist John Sprunt Hill donated it to the community. The original nine holes were designed by Donald Ross, with a second nine later added by Perry Maxwell. In 1960 the course was moved to its current location and redesigned by George Cobb. It remains a public, city-affiliated municipal facility and the oldest public golf course in the Durham area.
