Independence Golf Club

Independence Golf Club opened for play in October 2001 as a Tom Fazio design, notable as the acclaimed architect's only daily-fee course in Virginia. Set on rolling land in Midlothian, southwest of Richmond, the layout stretches across generous corridors with Fazio's signature blend of playability and strategic bite. For years the club served as the home of the Virginia State Golf Association, hosting the association's headquarters along with a museum devoted to the state's golf history and an extensive junior golf teaching program. That mission gave Independence a role well beyond a single round, making it a hub for competitive and developmental golf across the commonwealth. A championship course and a shorter practice course round out a facility built to grow the game.
