Jekyll Island Golf Club - Oleander

Jekyll Island's golf story reaches back to the island's era as a private millionaires' retreat, and a Donald Ross-era course from 1910 once occupied ground near today's Oleander layout. The modern Oleander Course was built in the early 1960s by noted architect Dick Wilson, stretching to roughly 6,500 yards through maritime forest, lakes and coastal Georgia terrain. Wilson also began a nearby course later completed by his protege Joe Lee. Now operated as public, state-park golf, Oleander anchors the Jekyll Island Golf Club, one of the largest public golf resorts in the Southeast. Accessible and affordable, it offers everyday players a chance to enjoy classic mid-century design on a barrier island steeped in history, with sea breezes and low-country scenery framing nearly every hole.
