Ocean North is one of Tom Fazio's two courses at Pelican Hill on the Newport Coast. It followed the Ocean South course, which opened in 1991, by about two years. Both courses closed for nearly two years from 2005 for what Fazio called a "re-perfection," with new grasses, bunkers and tees, and they reopened in November 2007, a year before the resort hotel. Brian Curley is overseeing a further refresh of both courses, with work on the North scheduled to finish in late 2026.
