About Sanford Gc
Sanford Golf Course opened in 1934 as a Depression-era civic project, with the original nine holes off Hawkins Avenue attributed to Donald Ross and built with town and federal relief funds. A back nine was added in the late 1960s, making it an 18-hole, city-owned municipal course, and it was renovated in 2002 with later design work by Rick Robbins.
