About Sanford Municipal Golf Course

Sanford Municipal Golf Course, owned by the City of Sanford, was originally designed by Donald Ross in 1934 as a nine-hole, Depression-era civic project that featured sand greens. Longtime manager and superintendent Bobby Powell built the back nine in the late 1960s, expanding it into today's 18-hole municipal course. The back nine offers scenic views of Buffalo Creek.
