Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes

Pine Lakes is one of three eighteen-hole courses at the Jekyll Island Golf Club, the largest public golf resort in Georgia. The layout opened in 1968 and is credited to Dick Wilson and his longtime protege Joe Lee; Wilson had died in 1965, and Lee carried the design work through to completion. Routed across the island's interior, Pine Lakes plays through stands of pine and around water, and it is generally regarded as the most demanding and longest of Jekyll's courses. It underwent a major renovation in 2002 by architect Clyde Johnston, which updated its bunkering, greens and conditioning while preserving the original character. Together with the Indian Mound and Great Dunes courses, Pine Lakes anchors a walkable, affordable golf destination on a state-owned barrier island, offering visitors a traditional parkland test amid the coastal Georgia landscape.
