Kissena Park's course in Flushing, Queens is a Depression-era public works project designed by John Van Kleek and built with money from the Civil Works Administration, the state's Temporary Emergency Relief Administration and the WPA. The Parks Department first announced its opening in August 1935 and announced it again in May 1936 after more work. It is one of the city-owned public courses Robert Moses's Parks Department built or rebuilt in the 1930s, and it is still open to everyone.
