MB National Kings North GC

King's North traces its roots to 1973, when it opened as the North Course at Myrtle Beach National, an Arnold Palmer collaboration. Palmer's design group returned in 1996 for a comprehensive redesign, rechristening the layout King's North and earning it recognition among America's best new courses. The reimagined course is packed with bold, memorable holes. The par-5 sixth, nicknamed "The Gambler," tempts players with an island-fairway shortcut that shortens the route to the green for those willing to risk it. Its most photographed hole is a par 3 defended by an island green and bunkers shaped like the outline of South Carolina, a signature image of Grand Strand golf. In 2025, Brandon Johnson, a longtime member of Palmer's design team, led a modern renovation that refreshed the course while preserving its imaginative character.
