Palmetto Dunes - Robert Trent Jones Golf Course

The Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront Course opened in 1968 as the first 18-hole layout at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort and remains the oldest course on the property. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., it was renovated in 2002 by his longtime associate Roger Rulewich, work that helped the course earn South Carolina's Golf Course of the Year honors in 2003. The layout is best known for its dramatic par-five 10th, one of only a couple of true oceanfront holes on all of Hilton Head Island, offering sweeping Atlantic views and playing into the prevailing coastal winds. Winding lagoons thread much of the routing, and the scenic, forgiving design makes it a longtime favorite among resort guests. It anchors Palmetto Dunes' three-course collection alongside the George Fazio and Arthur Hills courses.
