Barton Creek Fazio Foothills

Fazio Foothills opened in 1986 as the first Tom Fazio-designed course in Texas and remains Barton Creek Resort's signature layout. Carved into dramatic Hill Country terrain west of Austin, the par-72 course is famous for cliff-lined fairways, tumbling waterfalls and natural limestone caves, with small TifEagle Bermuda greens perched above steep drop-offs and undulating aprons. Its photogenic holes have made it one of the most recognizable courses in the state, and it has ranked among the top resort courses in North America. Fazio returned to oversee a 2004 upgrade that lengthened the course by nearly 200 yards and refreshed the fairway and tee turf. Playing to roughly 7,100 yards over constantly shifting elevation, Foothills blends scenery and difficulty in equal measure, the anchor of the resort's four-course lineup.
