About Helfrich Gc

Helfrich Hills is the oldest of the City of Evansville's three municipal golf courses, opened in 1923 on the West Side along Mesker Park Drive to a design credited to Tom Bendelow, the Scottish-born architect behind hundreds of early American public layouts. The hilly 18-hole parkland course has long served as a home for local amateur golf, hosting Tri-State Amateur play and USGA Public Links qualifying, and it reopened in 2023 after an extensive, months-long restoration marking its centennial.
